Question

Would you guys ever consider making some skimmer style duck dekes in the future? I was looking at the shovelers again and was just thinking how nice a skimmer would look. Especially on my wind driven cirlce rig. Would look just like shovelers doing their thing.

I know I'm getting greedy but why not

BK,
Actually it's not that far out there. In fact you will be suprised at some of the poses that will be coming. Be patient though.

Good to hear, thanks. Also glad to see you involved here Swampy, and hopefully feeling good. You get out and shoot any ducks this past season?

BK,
We shot a few birds.
I got out most of the season and when I did I was always with friends, so it was all good. I can't go out by myself anymore. Wife and DR won't let me. I popped smoke one day and humped in on the swamp solo. Big mistake. Stepped on a hole under the water and twisted my back almost out. Will not do that again unless I am within ear shot of the ramp. Of course it can happen just as easily walking out to my truck. Oh well, hopefully it will get better.
You do any good this year?

Glad to hear you got out! Heck from the way it seemed that was in question for a good while

It was a spotty year for ducks. Had 2 good mallard days on the river. Couple decent pond hunts. It is getting pretty obvious that the spinners are killing our young locals to quick though. Early pond season used to be the best around here, now it lasts about 2 weeks at best unless we get a push of birds.

Now the geese on the other hand...Oh boy!!! You could'nt help but shoot a goose around here. I actually shot more geese duck hunting than I did ducks from Dec-late Jan. Everything from the little guys to the big 10lb+ westerns. Alot of fun.
