My buddy and I went snowgoose hunting in winds of 25-35 mph with occasional 45 mph gusts. We thought it would be a good day to test the Full Body Canada Goose decoys in wind since I had bought them after season and hadn't got to use them yet. I stuck out 2 active head decoys and 3 feeder decoys. The feeder decoys never blew over once. I was very impressed. The active style heads blew over 2 times, which is as good or better than my Foots do in those types of winds. I forgot to mention I had them out for 4 hours in wind that strong. So for some reason the heads up decoys seem to be catching some wind. I'm sure the fine people at Avery know about this but I wanted to point it out to them because I know they have the Looker decoys coming out and they look like they have real high heads. Anyways I'm sure the fine folks of Avery have it figured out and I can't wait to get some Lookers. I just thought I would throw out my customer experience in wind and to tell you guys great job.

Thanks for the field test. We need to hear more stuff like that. I had some full bodies sitting on ice in a 20 to 25 MPH wind and they didn't tip over at all. Frankly, I was suprised. My experiences with other full bodies is that they always tipped over in wind like that. R&D at GHG thinks of everything.

On the opener of our late season,(feb.21st Me and a few guys from michigan hunted on our side of the pond in literally 35 mph winds with gusts up to 50mph. I give you my word not one avery blew over and we were chasing foots all over the damn feild.

Not got a bad word to say about GHG's and the wind but they like any other will take a dive in strong gusty winds. If they are on really flat ground even the active geese are darn stable.
Home fix that has made them as good as or better than any out there is : 8 oz of sheet lead formed to and fixed to the bottom of the base of the uprights. Just to be fair I fill the feet of the upright BF with sand. Simple and it works! R Green
