Has Shawn Stahl joined the Avery team?? I was looking at the hunting photos today and notice him in one of the goose pics in a finisher. Just curious.

Greenhead,

Yes, I have recently joined the Avery Team. It's a great and committed group to be associated with and I look forward to the opportunities.

I'll be at Mack's this weekend, if your there stop by and say hello.

Shawn, thanks for the reply. After I posted that question, I started second guessing myself and hoping that nobody would take it the wrong way and say I was trying to stir up controversy. Anyway, I know that the Avery crew is very pleased to have someone of your talent and ability added to their already excellent line up of staffers. I would love to be at Mack's this weekend, but I'll be there in Nov. for the World's and it's just too far for me to make two trips in two months on my meager teacher's salary. Hope to see you there next month if possible. I would love to meet you someday.

When Avery go started in my garage in 1994, I was simply trying to survive by combining the only things that had ever come naturally to me - hunting and selling. I was the luckiest guy in the world to have an understanding wife who let me do this crazy thing and never said it was crazy one time. Then my good friend Allen Hughes quit his lay-up job of ten years to get involved 100%, more out of pity than anything else I assume, but things started to take shape. After a short time, we started getting some decent guys through the turnstiles, but the company struggled really badly due to its need to grow without the money to do it. We lost a bunch of good folks along the way, but we are able to call most of them friends today.

Then Fred Zink showed up one day with a folder full of incredible ideas and his flawless character - Avery really stepped up a notch. Since then, we have been fortunate to build a roster of team players that would make anyone proud. Just about a month ago, we heard that Shawn Stahl might be available so we took a chance and called him. To everyone's surprise, he was interested in at least discussing what we were doing at Avery, and the rest is history.

I am the luckiest man in the world, and nobody will ever be able to convince me otherwise. To be able to wake up every single day and have the opportunity to work with Allen, Fred, Shawn, Bill Cooksey, Todd Rainey, Rick Frisch, Travios Mueller, Mark Six, Scott Moates, Eric Larsgaard, Tom Rainey and the whole team (you guys know exactly who you are) designing and making products for the best group of people on earth - waterfowlers - should be illegal. It is unfair to everyone who does not get to do it to say the very least.

I just wanted to express my pride in seeing Shawn Stahl's name in the same sentence with "Avery." It's been a long way to where we are now, and I promise with additions to the team like Shawn, we are looking forward to improving every aspect of our business.

Well, as good as Avery's products and staff are now, I don't know how in the world it could get any better, but I can't wait to see it happen. I love all the Avery products that I have(and it's quite a lot) and use them everytime I go in the field. They have yet to let me down once and I dont' expect it to happen anytime soon either. Keep up the good work. You've got a 100% Avery supporter and user in me.
