The answer is whatever works that day. I use a variety of calls from various call makers. Each call is tuned a little differently. Some days require a quite and deep call for close in work and others require loud and high pitched sounds to carry the distance to those high flying migrators.
In my opinion calls are a hunters tool. Just as a hammer and saw are to a carpenter. There are many varieties of each, some will work okay for everything but some are more specialized to make a particular job easier to do. The more tools you have, the better prepared you are to do the job at hand.
