I know they make certain devices to churn the water to keep your hole from freezing in cold conditions, and I know you can keep a well on also. What I am wanting to know is are there any other tactics to use to help keep a little hole open around a pit when the weather gets real cold? And also, I have 5 spinning wing decoys some of them the same, some different. Of course I have never used more that 3 at a time. What do you recomend as far as setting them in your spread and how many is two many. Also, does putting them close to the water so that the wings clipping the water help?
