ok fellas I wana get my first short reed. Iv been using a flute call for 5 years. I wana get a Zink Paralyzer but I don't know if its the right one to start with. witch Zink call do you think is the best to start out with and do they all come with a video?. also would it be cheaper to get it from Fred Zink himself or go to an online store?

Thanks!!!

The Paralyzer is a very good short reed goose call. The Paralyzer comes with a instructional video. He also makes a Power Clucker and a Little Man, which do not come with the instructional video. I hunt with a Paralyzer (maple) and a Power Clucker (cocabola). My favorite call is the Power Clucker. I believe the Paralyzer would be a easier call for a beginner to use. As far as price goes, I believe there would be no price difference between Fred and one of his dealers. TINY'S TWO CENTS

I agree with Tiny...all I blow are Freddy's calls. Hopefully, my new one will be done soon, but as far as ease of blowing goes, from a flute to a SR, the original SR-1 is the easiest call out there to switch on. Your hands are very similar to a flute, but use SR breathing.

They have a deeper, more hollow sound than any other SR out there and the moan....as the Italians would say BELISMA!!! You can't match it. It's hollow and ghostly!! Awesome sound. Like Freddy told me..."Once you get the hang of it...it's like falling down hill!!!"

Down here in Texas we hunt the lesser species of canadas..therefore I prefer the Little Man (acrylic)!! Great crack in the sound and you can get deep sounds if you like! Plus I seem to be able to get faster response from it over the other two...when hunting the smaller geese you have to be speedy at times. I actually hunt with the SR1 and the Little Man but seem to alway's go to the LM....my two cents!!
