Try to lengthen the amount of the reed that is exposed past the wedge, that ought to deepen it some. There should be some kind of mark or line on the bottom of the tone channel, try to keep the wedge in front of that mark, not much though. The farther in front of it you go, the higher pitch you will get out of the call.

Remember the farther the whole reed/gut combo is pulled out the harder the call will be to blow also.

Hopefully that will help you some. Trial and error is the best way to learn.

Before I started moving the reed around, I would add more voice inflextion into the call. I change pitch of a goose call by adding or subtracting voice inflextion. TINY'S TWO CENTS

Jeff,
There is a couple things you can do to make the call lower or more hollow. The biggest problem I encounter when we receive retunes, is that the call was taken apart and the reed was put in backwards or upside down. As long as the gentleman did not shave on the reed or alter the reed or guts, I can inform you over the phone on how to put the call back together without having to send it back. Give me a call and I will be more than happy to help you.
Thanks,
Field Hudnall
