Default Two Men Limit ...

Held in Granby, Quebec, on Saturday August 26th,

This Avery/GHG event was organized by Avery PS Pat Picard at the Granby Quebec shooting range where he is the director. And Pat deserved two thumbs up for organizing such an event, it was a fun shoot with presence prizes only, no prizes based on ranking or performance, JUST FUN ... despite the fact that we had a few unofficial side bets $$$...

Every station was done representing a hunting scenario, shooting clay targets over a snow goose spread, duck spread or Canada goose spread, laying in a Power Hunter, a Finisher, a Migrator with snow covers, or from a 20 foot duckboat, just hunting situations ... target variety and presentations were simply incredible, it was a team event, so at times we were shooting at 6 clay targets being thrown simultaneously, simply awesome ... The best event I have attended ... And hopefully this becomes a yearly event ...

Here are just a few pics of the event, possibly Pat will had some more pics ...

CONGRATULATIONS !!!

Thanks for all thoses good words Jocelyn! Thanks too to helped me finding that duck boat at the last minute. I really appreciated you help buddy!

Ok so just some explaination on the event.

First I created this event less than two monts ago after some people on my French internet forum demonstrated some interests for a "team shooting event". I knew it would be a crazy challenge cause of security rules to follow and uncommon clay shooting presentations needed to make it feel like real hunting but I accepted the challenge. The season opening was arriving fast and time was running late but we did perfect even with a so short time delay.

I started by asking some help to my great friend and best hunting partner I (and I'll) ever had.....Mathieu Bouthillette. Him and I have an incredible complicity so I knew he would be the perfect partner on that challenge too. So we created "Two Men Limit" together and decided to make it an Avery-GHG day. Mathieu created a logo for the event and we used our French internet forum to recruit participants. They started to form their teams and every one were pretty excited.

We cut some wetlands plants and added on every shooting stations......but it was not enough for waterfowl hunting fanatics like us. We decided to completely cover those two shooting fields with our GHG decoy spread to really put every one in a waterfowling hunting mood. Actually it worked incredibly well!!!

I planned four different shooting stages for a total of 200 shots per team.

1: Sitting and hiding, and walking shooting positions. (50 shots)

2: Standing shooting positions (50 shots)

3: Layout blinds shooting positions (56 shots)

4: Duck boat shooting positions (44 shots)

The two first stages were in the mourning and the last two in the evening. During lunch participants had corn on the cob and we gave all participation prizes. It gave us just enough time for some pics and setting up third and fourth stages. There was no prizes for the winner team... that way no competition only amazing fun.

Contestants shot doubles, report, pursuits and also special bonus stations were the had to shoot triples and quadruples. Thoses bonus stations were great challenge and some participants did good. Shooters had to shoot from Finisher, Migrator and Power Hunter blinds and most of them finally got the proof that Avery blinds are the best!

I would like to thank Avery Outdoors for every participation prizes they sent to us for this event. Your contribution was really generous and you should've seen the winners faces!!! Some won Floating gun cases, floating camera bags, shooting towels, GHG caps, Avery caps, shooting towels and many stickers. Thanks again for your support.

You'll see a lot of pics (I can't put all of them cause there's more than 200 but I'll put many) and you'll realized a bit better the huge organisation it was for Mathieu and me. That's a chance we had great helpers.

So thanks again to my hunting buddy Mathieu and see you for " Two Men Limit" second edition next year.

Pat
