I was afield today, in the southern reaches of Saskatchewan. It's unreal how dry things are. Many sloughs and pond are dried right up, while others are just mud holes. (We had 60 plus days of hot weather and no rain) On the bright side, where there is water, there ARE ducks and LOTS of them! We saw all kinds of quackers and had 20 minutes of the best early season duck hunting that I've had in a long time. There were ducks swoooping and diving in every direction. Unfortunately, (depending on where you are on the migration route) when it gets cold, the ducks are going to head for big water or carry on south.

In addition to a great duck shoot, myself and my two buddies had excellant sharptailed grouse and prairie chicken hunting.

Time to go clean birds!

Mike

Congrats on the great hunt. I can't wait until Thanksgiving when we open here in Kentucky.
