I bought some of the GHG Bluewing Teal decoys at the end of last season. Finally got to use them on Monday for a day in the marsh of early teal season in DE. We had been talking to the fellows who rent a blind down the ditch from us who had shot nothing but Greenwing Teal. Coincidence or not, but we managed to bag a few Bluewing Teal. All of the Teal ignored the other brands teal decoys and piled right toward the Greenhead Gears. You just gotta love them!

A+

Other hunters please take note of this example. Ducks do like to land with their own! Although mallards are a good all around I have found that most of the time that ducks work my spread they will land with their own if they are present. You want to match your decoy offereing to what birds are currently in your hunting spot and with what birds you are after. Assuming the birds are in the area, you want more blue wingers, than add blue wingers to your spread. Think about it. Yes blue wingers and green wingers mix when flying around but MOST of the time IMHO they are flying with their own and landing with their own. Excellent observation and I am glad you posted it!

Hey Kryspy,

Glad to hear that you are hard at work putting a dent in the Teal population Glad to hear the Bluewings are working well. Ol' WW plans on putting some of the Cinnamons to work this winter here on the Colorado I already know that the GHG WIGEON are killer on the cottontops, so I will soon be ranting about the Cinny Minnys

Rusty,

We get Cinnamon Teal here on a fairly regular basis. They seem to hangout on the Gila and Colorado Rivers on small sandbars and tiny backwaters. I shoot a few every season and miss a few as well

Keep your eye out for the Pony Express. It'll have a Whacker Label on it!
