I have 54 FB's, and 24 shells. I added about 24 full bodies in varying types this year for 2005. All stored in 6 slot Avery bags, with socks - they are babied all the way.

As the season is going along, we have noticed the 2004 FB bases labelled "B" have been getting tighter and tighter to put on. It has gotten bad enough that they won't even turn while off the deke! This isn't random either, it appears all of them are doing it.

I just inspected them and there is no sign of dirt, excessive wear, or anything. The "A" bases work perfect. This has been happening in any type of temperature, so it is not related to the cold. It does appear that there is some mis-alignment in the flaps that eject outword. The only thing I remembered was one of the guys I hunt with one day had put a couple of them together with the feet backward - go figure!

Is there a solution, suggestion, retrofit?

PS - we are just crushing the honkers right now in N. Illinois, it is a blast.

Boy Dave that is odd. Have you tried leaving them on for a week or so to try and get them to for lack of better words mold together better? Is their anyway you can leave them together?

Yes I can put them together for a week. I do agree it is odd. I'm wondering about the bases being put on backward.

I opened my new box of Pro Grade Actives this morning that I ordered from Cabelas, and put them into the bag and put them on the trailer for this afternoons hunt. When I was setting up this afternoon one of the new real foot bases doesn't fit either - different issue though - looks like a fit problem. I'll look at it in the morning. If it is an issue I'll call Cust. Serv. on Monday.

Don't get me wrong - I'm not rippin' on Avery, I have been very sastified so far with all the products I have bought, and if I had a problem, it was taken care of.

If my '04 "B" bases don't come back together, I would like to know my options for motions bases or something. I'm diggin' the new 'action' from the Pro Grades.
