Avery pop-up blind, Mossy Oak Break-Up. Why are the strips of camouflaged horizontally arranged? Well, never mind why. How can this be changed to vertical? Time and gravity pulls the top "flap" of the leafy camo downward (exposing the netting) as well as plants generally grow vertically and not horizontally, thus a vertical arrangement would blend better into most backgrounds or standing alone.
I think the whole thing is great but this would be a definite improvement. What say you? Nice looking forum by the way, hope my first post is not too pesky.

No question about it, and we are changing it for 2003. We have not been happy with this cutting process, but it's the only 3-D fabric we can buy in large volume. In the old days, we sewed die-cut camouflage to the inside of 2" square nets, but we had complaints about how the net hung on everything. The best one I ever heard was a man who said, "A spider can't walk across this stuff without gettin' tangled up!" He was right, but that stuff was the best camo I have ever seen. We lit ducks three feet from the boat day after day.
For 2003, we are doing something very similar to the old CamoNets so that we can eliminate the "horizontal lines" that nobody likes. The new CamoNets will be large sheets of 70-denier nylon camo that has been die-cut and then sewn to the face of large sheets of 600-denier polyester. You are going to love this stuff! Thanks for the question. Tom Matthews |
