I have a Express 1650DB with side steering. Avery has told me to bend the tubing to customize the frame around the throttle and console. I have talked to people about bending the aluminum and have not received satisfactory information. The bend needed appears to be too extreme for the blind not to be in a bind. The only thing I have come up with is to use the mounting brackets to raise the blind high enough for some clearance. If anyone has this type of boat and the answers I need it would be appreciated. Duck season opens on Thanksgiving Day.

Dear RD,

That's a great duck boat, and we have sold blinds to hundreds of Express owners. If you want to know exactly what to do, you should take a series of digital photos and send them to Kevin Lee at kevinl@averyoutdoors.com. Kevin will give you step-by-step instructions on how to mount your blind correctly. The photos Kevin will need are:

1. A photo from the side of the boat showing the console's position.
2. A photo from above the boat showing the layout of the console. If you can take this photo from directly overhead, it will be VERY helpful - the best photo we ever received of this was taken from a highway overpass after the boat owner had pulled his boat under it!

Kevin will also need some measurements so it would be best for you to contact him at 800 333-5119 after 8:00 am CST on Monday. Please let him know that I sent you to him.

We are looking forward to answering your questions and hopefully putting a blind on your boat!

Tom
